We went just after the Easter holidays in mid April 2013; flights were 100 GBP per person with Easyjet. As we are from Scotland, everyone thought we were crazy for going somewhere colder than home!
Not long into reading about Iceland, I realised that 4 days and 3 nights was not enough time. My girlfriend and I made a list of 'must-do's'. They were; Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle Tour, Husky Sledging, and a hunt for the Northern Lights.
Hiring a car was the most cost effective, it meant we didn’t need to get transfers to the hotel or to the Blue Lagoon. But more importantly, it meant we could do the Golden Circle Tour ourselves.
